Electronic Health Records Products 2013 to 2018
The Medicare Electronic Health Record Incentive Program provides financial incentives to eligible hospitals and ambulatory providers to adopt and meaningfully use certified electronic health record technology (CEHRT). Electronic Health Record (EHR) technology reported by participants is certified by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology ONC. This dataset provides the CEHRT reported by providers when they annually attest to meaningful use.

Description
This dataset combines meaningful attestations from the Medicare EHR Incentive Program and certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) product data from the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL) to identify the unique vendors, products, and product types of each EHR used to attest to meaningful use. The dataset also includes important provider-specific data, related to the provider’s participation and status in the program. Because providers may declare more than one EHR product when attesting, this data also provides each provider’s unique National Provider Identifier (NPI). Analysts may sort this ID to identify providers with multiple products. In addition, since some providers have begun their second attestations, this dataset includes an attestation ID allowing researchers to track the number of unique attestations. This dataset results from the merge of attestation data from the Medicare EHR Incentive Program with certified EHR product information from ONC’s Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL). The Medicare EHR Incentive Programs provide incentive payments to eligible providers as they adopt, implement, upgrade, or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology. The CHPL provides the authoritative, comprehensive listing of EHR products that have been tested under the ONC Certification Program.
