The Free, Virtual Conference Brings Together Leaders in Technology and Healthcare to Share Knowledge, Best Practices, and Advances in Natural Language Processing
John Snow Labs, the Healthcare AI and NLP company and developer of the Spark NLP library, today announced it will host the inaugural Healthcare NLP Summit, a free virtual conference being held from April 6-9. Dedicated specifically to healthcare applications, the four-day event will showcase NLP best practices, real-world case studies, and the latest technology in use today. The creation of this event comes after the success of the company’s first-ever NLP Summit, held last October, which dedicated a full day to healthcare and life sciences NLP sessions.
With two full days of healthcare tracks followed by two days of training, keynote speakers will be held by experts from leading healthcare organizations including Cigna, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Blue Shield of California, Change Healthcare, Roche, and more. Topics covered will include clinical natural language understanding, ethical NLP, de-identification of sensitive free-text data, multilingual NLP models and applications, among others most pertinent to healthcare practitioners, with more being added daily.
In conjunction with the Healthcare NLP Summit, John Snow Labs will also issue the results of its upcoming survey exploring the state of AI in healthcare, in partnership with Gradient Flow. The research will uncover how healthcare and life science industry professionals are using data science and big data technologies, shedding light on important trends to watch in the space.
“2020 was a breakthrough year for healthcare; with rapid Covid-19 vaccine development, major strides in artificial intelligence and telehealth, and more, we are on the precipice of realizing how impactful technology can be in this field,” said David Talby, CTO, John Snow Labs. “In NLP alone, we’ve been able to accelerate clinical trial recruitment, detect and prevent life-threatening adverse drug events, and bring healthcare tools and technology to underserved populations across the globe. The time for knowledge-sharing and education among the fast-growing NLP healthcare community is now, and that is exactly what the Healthcare NLP Summit intends to achieve.”
